Ready Meals

Introduction

Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day. You get home from a night working late and you really have the urge to tuck into a top curry, but you’re too tired to come over all Jamie Oliver in the kitchen and you certainly don’t want to turn round and venture out to the curry house down the road, no matter how good they might be. All you want is your food and a quiet couple of hours watching your favourite TV show. Or maybe you’re just on a tight budget and can’t afford to eat out as often as you’d like?

Time for the supermarket ready meals to come to the rescue. We have all had them lurking in our fridge or freezer at one time or another, and they have certainly come a long way since the rubbery reheatables of our youth – but when you stand looking at the shelves fully stocked with dozens of options, which ones are actually any good? Is the glorious photo on the packet a genuine reflection of what’s inside? Will the chicken in the dish you have in your hand taste like succulent perfection or burnt cardboard? Will the sauce provide enough oil to heat a small Siberian town for a week?

Here at CurryPages.com we may just be able to help you there. Our team of tasters has blitzed the supermarkets. We’ve sampled various dishes from the top brands, and we’ll start to bring you the results over the coming weeks and months. We don’t pretend to be the curry world’s answer to Jilly Goulden, but we know what we like – curry. The taste teams preferences range from the mildest of Kormas to the hottest of Vindaloos, so we’ve tried to bring a range of opinions and tastes together to form an honest and subjective review.
