Although there was no one else in the restaurant when we visited today, our server was impatient and rude. The plates were dirty & service was slow. When the food finally arrived, the portions were small and the food was unappealling. My Thali was £13 yet had less food than if I had ordered a seperate curry, rice and naan which would have been two thirds of the price! The lamb looked as thought it was bruised and old. I was not able to eat my food, yet when I complained, the staff refused to take the meal off the bill and started to shout at me. This place is HORRIFIC... the worst dining experience I have had in London. Avoid the Bengal Villiage at all costs.

I ordered a a lamb tikka jalfrezi, not hot enough, not spicy enough, and had literally no salt in in it! if that's how you like our jafrezi then you know where to go!

We had high hopes for this restaurant after a previous indifferent visit to Brick Lane, and having read good reviews. We booked just the day before for 8 people as it was somebody's birthday. On the night itself we were running 15 minutes late and called the restaurant to let them know and they confirmed that it would be fine. And then we arrived, the guy said they had no booking and they tried to palm us off onto two small tables in different parts of the restaurant. Quick thinking on our part got us into the Le Taj across the road which had a superb double menu! Won't be going back to the BV though and I'm still thinking that Brick Lane is really losing its touch.

I'm a British/Canadian/Australian living in Germany. I do however get back regularly to the UK and of course when in London hit Brick Lane for a curry followed by some Jazz at Ronnie Scotts. The Bengal Curry House is my only stop in Brick Lane. It is simply fantastic. The food is heavenly, atmosphere second to none and the welcome always warm and friendly. Please try this elegant jewel in the crown of Indian restaurants in England. You will be extremely impressed I'm sure.

Our club went recently and were impressed with the great atmosphere and friendly service. The food is of a high standard too and reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.

Went last night having been several times before. It never fails to impress with all the usual dishes but some fantastic additions such as the Almashraki chicken. Staff are friendly and the service is quick. The bill came and was very good indeed. I recommend this place to anyone, the best on Brick Lane.

Well presented intimate restaurant, with an excellent menu and very friendly and helpful staff. Gets busy with City types early on and then the crowd changes to a more informal local crowd drawn from Shoreditch, Hoxton, etc. Good VFM and the food is great.
