| Went here last night having read the reviews and was very unimpressed. All the food tasted reheated, the sheek kebabs were like rubbber! Korai chicken tasted nothing like real korai chicken and was quite bland, the keema was the best of what we ordered, had some decent flavour but the portion was tiny and it lacked heat. The naan bread was the most heavy, dense naan bread I've ever eaten, forget trying to roll it round anything! The restaurant was more of a cafe, but this wouldnt have mattered if the food was good. There really is no reason to come here. |

| I like this place best in Brick Lane and I can eat alone here without any hassle. There's a good choice of food, a plain setting and friendly staff who'll chat if it's not too busy, but who don't fuss over you. |

| Ate at Sweet and Spicy for the first time on a Sunday afternoon and found it was the perfect cure for a hangover. Fantastic dal and cheap as hell -- a feast for two costs well under £20. Many a subsequent meal in a posher restaurant has evoked the comment, "It's good... but it's no Sweet and Spicy."
Hundreds of minicab drivers can't be wrong! |

| I don't understand Sajid's comments, I've always found the staff really nice and helpful and the food is just sensational. I wouldn't eat anywhere else on Brick Lane and any time I have a curry anywhere else I always think 'Hmm, wasn't as good as Sweet & Spicy'. Really inexpensive and really good. It isn't licensed though and it is a caff rather than a restaurant so don't go expecting to spend time lingering over your drinks. |

| Terrible , I was very disappointed with all aspects of this restaurant, especially the most important one (Food!!!) , the person I was eating with also wasnt very impressed as the food wasnt fresh. The service ws terrible as the staff continued to talk amongst themselves rather than serve the customers. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! |

| I have been visiting this restaurant for some ten years now.
This is the premier resturant in the East End make no mistake. That is if you don't mind no frills. The lack of any table cloths, carpet and attentive waiters give this place a repatution as big as any Balti House in Birmingham or similar restaurant in that glorious food haven Bradford!
Try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised. |

| I have been eating at Sweet & Spicy every week for over four years. It's excellent! Home cooked food in a basic "caff" setting, huge portions and very cheap - chicken byriani, curry side dish, nan annd free salad and raitha and a can of coke for under £7! You won't eat for 24 hours, the portions are so generous. All the locals of Brick Lane eat there (it was the location of the infamous Brick Lane car bombing last year). I hesitate to publicly recommend the place, as I don't want it to become too crowded. if you don't mind formica tables and lino on the floor, then this is most definitely the place for you. |
